Gothic baby & woyww #443

Goodmorning lovelies – it’s Wednesday and I not only have a desk-photo to share but also photo’s of a new born baby in the family… yes, I became a great aunt! And it’s a special baby, I tell ya, ’cause my niece is a special woman… but more about that later.

First, here’s a photo of my desk. Not the full desk-surface but just a part. The part that holds new items.

WOYWW #443

I went to the printers yesterday to pick up the photos I had printed and while I was in town I also looked for fun embellishments to use for scrapbooking (yes, still making scrapbook-layouts when I’m not art journaling.) I not only found these lovely wooden letters but also the brush-holder. It wasn’t on my wish list but as soon as I saw it I realized I couldn’t do without it 😉

Among the printed photos were of course pics of my niece with her new born daughter (I can’t believe my ‘little’ brother became a grand-dad now…) who was born on November 10th.

My niece Lisa and her daughter, baby Alice Raven

My brother and his family emigrated to Canada and I haven’t seen my niece since she was 14… but I can tell from all the photos I received during the past years that she grew out to be a wonderful GOTHIC woman. She married a lovely GOTHIC man and now they have a lovely GOTHIC little baby… so what could a great aunt do but knit a GOTHIC little cardigan…

Baby Alice is very small so this cardigan is waaay too big for her but she will grow in to it and her parents were very pleased with this present. It was fun to make too!

I won’t make this blogpost too long as you ‘deskers’ have more blogs to visit, but I cannot leave without showing you at least one ‘artsy piece’. My creative friend and partner in crime (we teach workshops together) Jenny de Bode challenged me to create something inspired by the art of Elke Trittel

I created this art journal spread and although it’s heavely influenced by Elke’s art, the text makes it a ‘Marit-page’ so I’m pretty pleased with it.

This is the last week of November and as you may now, December is a special month because I will again (for the 9th time in a row) host the TOP 2000 BLOG PARTY at the end of the year. The fun starts on Friday, December 1st because that is the day that the voting for the songs on the 2017-list starts. I will tell you all about how to vote for your fave songs in an extra blogpost on Friday.

What you need to know now is just this: The Top 2000 Blog party is a FREE creative & musical party  and YOU ARE INVITED. Find all the info about it in the top menu on this blog (HERE)

Have a lovely week y’all.
